Yay! A place for me to put things I find interesting or important
Most these are going to be related to new build steam locomotive groups. In short, new build steam is pretty close to what it says it is: steam locmotives being built from the ground up. The most famous example of this is probably 60163 Tornado, but there's quite a few others.
The T1 trust is (I think) the only organization specifically focused on making a newbuild steam locmotive in the US at the moment. There's a few other projects attached to railroads and museums, though.
This is the current project being undertaken by the same people that built Tornado and is effectively the British equivilent to the T1 trust in being the most well known and also seeking to prove the capabilities of a short lived design
One of the rair projects I follow that isn't steam locomotive related ^^. If you haven't heard of Martin or the Marble Machine yet, I hightly recomend checking out the original video of his work. One of the joys of watching Martin's attempst to make a reliable, tour ready version is the journey of growth he's been on as a designer.
Pretty self explanitory. This is a website that keeps a list of (mostly) aperiodic tilings as well as some terminology definitions. Definitely a place to nerd out on, but also worth checking out for the pretty pictures.
If you haven't heard of them already, Desmos is an online graphing calculator with a lot of punch to it. (There's several people who have built whole games in it) If you ever need to quicly mess with formulas, I highly recomend, especially as they've started developing a 3D graphing extension. I don't know enough to recomend their geometry system, sadly.
